The Red Dress

Some love to go all out for Valentine's night. If you’re planning a fancy dinner or meeting for cocktails, this look may be just the thing! Although, there is more to the “Red Dress” than you may realize. A legend in its own right, the Red Dress has a bit of historical significance worth considering before you make your Valentine’s decision.

The red dress is an iconic look made fabulous by Hollywood stars like Audrey Hepburn (Funny Face - 1957) and Vivian Leigh (Gone With The Wind - 1939). The essence of this style instantly makes you the center of attention! From the silver screen to the red carpet, the red dress has been stunning passers by for almost a century! Are you able to pull off this style? Are you ready for a grand entrance? If the answer is yes and yes, and you love the idea of heads turning as you walk by, definitely go with this look. Love is in the air and this red dress may be calling your name.

Gingham pattern dress

Looking for a cute dress this Valentine's Day? Whether you are keeping it simple with a Valentine’s lunch or a more upscale evening, the Brendal Gingham Sweetheart Dress is an effortless look and could be your GoTo this Valentine’s Day. It's a cute look, but how much do you really know about the fashion importance of the gingham pattern?

This simple pattern was a trendy piece during several distinct periods of history, one was wartime 1940s where the iconic Wartime Dorothy was captured.

The photograph was a depiction of a perfect summer afternoon scene as light is shown fluttering through the window and kissing glasses of red wine. The gingham dress was designed by Adrian, costume designer at MGM studio from 1928 to 1941. This pattern became an instant hot look and caught trend.

In 1964 a small postal boutique called Biba provided a gingham design for another iconic photograph resulting in seventeen thousand order requests just after it was published in London’s The Daily Mirror.

So as styles go, this one is set to come back strong in 2022. Are you ready to take it viral?
